North Korea

Since 1995, Good Neighbors has been supporting the poor in North Korea with various projects.

Here's what we're up to in North Korea:Child Development Orphanage Support

We run two programs to in order to support the orphanages in North Korea.

The first is by providing vitamins, meals, living supplies, and powdered milk to 2,900 North Korean children who are supported at nine orphanages.

The second is by improving the orphanage facilities so the children can live in a clean and educational environment.

Child Nutrition Production

Good Neighbors is working to establish a bean oil factory. Construction is expected to complete in May 2009. The factory is equipped with modern facilities which makes it possible to extract oil twice as much as other factories. The factory will produce 15,000 tons of bean oil and will be used to feed children.

We will be working to promote a balanced nutrition and improved immunity by providing essential fatty acids, including omega-3. This is crucial for many of the pregnant women and children who are malnourished.

Education Support
We assist various school facilities and provide the textbooks that are in shortage. Currently, we are able to offer a better education to 4,000 children.
