Rayganj Community Development Project

Separated from the Sirajgonj Community Development Project in 2011, in order to focus more on 10 towns: Hockgobindopur, Jagonathpur, Janjalipara, Salanga, Dattakusha, Kumajpur, and Mathurapur. Their monthly income is 60 USD, unemployment rate being 35%. We provide school supplies, meals, etc. to approx. 1,359 children, providing after school programs, libraries, education centers, medical support, among others. We are also improving the sanitation through provision of restrooms and clean water, and helping the youth to get jobs through computer classes. And we are encouraging the women to help their economies by teaching them to sew since 1997. Total of 170 children are the beneficiary of our 5 Preschools.

Ghatail Community Development Project

Since 1998, we have been working in Ghatail, a farming community located northwest of the capital Dhaka. Ghatail’s population is aprox. 32,000 and 30% of them live with less than 1 USD per day. Their average monthly income is USD50, unemployment rate being 80%. We are nurturing children from age 11 to 16/17 to become leaders in the community through proper education, meals, health support, libraries, extra curriculum, etc. We are providing a professional English Education since 2004, with the management of GELTA (English teachers association).

Mujibnagar Community Development Project

Located 300km west of the capital Dhaka, Mujibnagar region (focused on Bagowan and Monakhali) has been separated from Good Neighbors’ Neherpur project.  60% of the population lives with less than 1 USD per day, with the unemployement rate being 50%. We provide after school programs for 5,500 elementary and 500 middle schoolers, and provide school supplies, tuition, meals, vitiamins, health care, etc. to aopprox. 2,000 students. We also provide drinking water, clean bathrooms, farming education, etc. for the people in the community.  

Moulvibazar Community Development Project

Moulvibazar is located in the northeast of Bangladesh. Its population is 55,500, and their average monthly income is 35 USD, 72% of them living with less than 1 USD per day. We started our projects here since 2010, providing after school programs, school supplies, health care, libraries, and meals to the children, and computer and sewing education to the youth.   We also provide drinking water, clean bathrooms, farming education, goat manure, etc. for the people in the community.  

Pirganj Community Development Project

Pirganj is located 450km away from Dhaka, and its population is approx. 32,000. 75% of them live with less than 1 USD per day, with the average monthly income being 65 USD. Half of the population does not have access to clean water and bathrooms. In cooperation with the Pirganj Community since 2010, Good Neighbors is executing a five-year community developing project. We provide after school programs, school supplies, libraries, meals, health care, etc. to 14,000 children.  We also provide drinking water, clean bathrooms, farming education, and planting tree campaigns for the people in the community.  

Setabganj Community Development Project

Setabganj is located 447km away from Dhaka, and its population is 28,750. 75% of them live with 1 USD per day, and their average monthly income is 52 USD.  Half of the population does not have access to clean water and bathrooms.  Good Neighbors is executing a five-year community developing project. We provide after school programs, school supplies, libraries, meals, health care, etc. to 12,000 children.  We also provide drinking water, clean bathrooms, farming education, and planting tree campaigns for the people in the community.  

Dohar Community Development Project

Dohar Project is focused on Laipara and Kushumhati that are located in the Dhaka District. Their region’s population is 34,000, and its 40% lives with less than 1 USD per day, their average monthly income being 76 USD. Premature death rate is 5%. Based on the communities’ participation, we have started a development project since 2010.  We provide after school programs, school supplies, computer classes, libraries, meals, health care, etc. to the children. And we provide drinking water, clean bathrooms, farming education, domestic animals, and Women Rights Campaign for the people in the community.

Feni Community Development Project

Located in the southwest Bangladesh, Feni is 200km far from Dhaka. Its population is approx. 345,800, and their average monthly income is 45 USD, with 35% of them living with less than 1 USD per day. Only half of them have access to the clean water, and only 5% of them have access to proper sewage system..  We provide after school programs, school supplies, health care, libraries, and meals to the children, and computer and sewing education to the youth.   We also provide drinking water, clean bathrooms, farming education, etc. for the people in the community.  

Kalai Community Development Project

Kalai is our new project in 2011, focused on 5 villages: Bakhra, Belgeria, Hazipur, Ghaturia, and Begungram. The region’s population is approx. 129,300, and their average monthly income is 54 USD, with 30% of them living with less than 1 USD per day. 50% of them have access to the clean water, but a proper sewage system is nonexistent. We will start providing after school programs, school supplies, health care, libraries, etc. to 600childre. And we will also provide a well for 1,400 locals and technical farming education for 50 locals.
